Madikeri: In a press statement, MP Pratap Simha has disclosed that the Union Government has released Rs.58.8 crore to get the stretch of road from Madikeri to Sampaje repaired, coming under National Highway 275, which was damaged in the recent floods.
Pratap Simha had recently met Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari in Delhi and had submitted an appeal for grants to get the damaged road repaired permanently.
The Minister has favourably considered the appeal and has released the amount which would be utilised to construct the retaining walls, drainage, road repair and other related works, stated Pratap Simha and added that the works would commence soon.
