RTO services to go online soon

Mysuru:  Soon, the RTOs in the State will provide services online as all the 61 transport offices in Karnataka will adopt Vahan 4 software, which allows people to apply for several services online.

Transport Secretary B. Basavaraju gave a green signal for the transition at Ramanagaram RTO office yesterday. “The new software allows people to get services at their homes. On an average, Ramanagaram RTO registers 120 vehicles every day. The number for the entire State is 4,000.

Mysuru Police to help get Driving Licences

Meanwhile, the Mysuru City Police and the Transport Department (RTO West) will issue driving licences to eligible persons in a special drive on Jan. 9. Interested persons coming under the jurisdiction of RTO (West) must submit relevant documents to the K.R. Traffic Police Station for verification on or before Jan. 8.

Once their documents are verified, they need to apply for Learners Licence (LLR) on Jan. 9 and their applications will be sent to the RTO office.

The applicant must be an Indian citizen and must be above 18 years. They must be physically and mentally fit and people above 40 years must submit a medical fitness certificate. Four passport-sized photographs, age proof documents and Aadhaar Card for address proof must also be submitted.
