RTO (West) launches banner campaign for pending fine collection 

Transport Department announces 50 percent rebate on fines 

Mysuru: The Regional Transport Office (RTO)-West, in association with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), released the banner announcing 50 percent rebate in fines on Department Statutory Action (DSA) on Thursday. 

The banner was released by DLSA Chairperson and Principal District and Session Judge Usha Rani at her office in the Mysuru Law Court Complex on Krishnaraja Boulevard.  

Speaking on the occasion, Judge Usha Rani said that the Department had announced 50 percent rebate in the fines related to DSA cases under the Motor Vehicle Act connected to the State Transport Department.  

Fine amounts can be paid directly at the RTO (West) till July 10. Banner, released to create public awareness, will be displayed at various locations in the city, she added.  

RTO (West) Vasanth Eshwar Chauhan, who spoke on the occasion, said, while there were no pending cases connected to RTO (West) between 1991 and 1998, a total of 3,740 cases were pending between 1998 and 2022.  

“Under 50 percent discount scheme, we have collected Rs. 1.64 lakh from 47 cases. We are expecting to collect more fine amount. The Department has already created awareness through various associations, institutions and vehicle owners in addition to putting up banners at various locations,” he added.  

DLSA Member-Secretary and Senior Civil Judge Nagaraj Siddappa Ankasadoddi, RTO (West) Superintendents Shivakumar and Manohar, FDA M.R. Ravi and others were present.
