Rule breakers on Ring Road

Sir,

As a daily commuter on the Ring Road, Hebbal segment to KRS Road junction, I am a witness to the carelessness of drivers of big and small vehicles who come speeding on the wrong side. In their effort to cover the “wrong side stretch” as soon as possible, they drive at very high speeds without a care about motorists who might be coming in the right way.

We also have pedestrians running all over in a chaotic manner to get across the Ring Road and the worst are the illegal cuts on the median made by anti-social people and being used by pedestrians to run across, which has now  gotten bigger to allow two-wheelers and now cars are also crossing using the illegal cuts (bang opposite Bharath Cancer Hospital).

The most dangerous part is, these vehicles just emerge out of the wild growth of bushes on the median, at high speed and land on the Ring Road much to shock of drivers who will, more importantly, have to keep a watch on vehicles converging at the crucial Infosys junction.

To add to this, law-breakers trying to escape Police checking at KRS Road junction come whizzing at high speeds on the wrong side.

My sincere request to the authorities concerned is to increase patrolling on the Ring Road, protect the safety of law-abiding motorists and punish the offenders.
