Rural students from Mandya to visit NASA on study tour

Mandya: Eight students from various schools run by Abhinava Bharathi Shikshana Trust in Mandya have been selected to visit National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the US on a study tour.

The Trust has made all arrangements for the study tour of eight rural students Swarna, Chandana, Vandana, Sarika, Chidananda, Pranati R. Bharadwaj, Harshith P. Atreya and Sohan G. Nayak, who will be visiting the prestigious space agency in the month of July 2017.

The visas have already been issued to students and ninety percent of their expenses for food, accommodation and local visits is being borne by the Trust’s General Secretary Keelara Shivamurthy.

The students were selected on the basis of educational excellence, talent and interest in Science and Technology. Three teachers — Anantha Kumar Swamiji, School President; R. Rajesh, Head Master and  B.S. Pooja, Assistant Teacher — will be accompanying the students, according to a press release from the Trust.
