Rutuja Lad from Mumbai to sing in city on Feb.9

Mysore/Mysuru: Rutuja Lad from Mumbai, a disciple of Vidushi Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, will be presenting vocal music on Sunday (Feb. 9) at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar at 6 pm. She will be accompanied by Pandit Bhimashankar Bidanur on the tabla and Deepak Nagannavar on harmonium support. The event is organised by Gayana Sabha, Mysuru.

Rutuja Lad was initiated into music at the age of five by her parents Umesh Lad and Tanuja Lad. She received her initial training from Guruvarya Bhalchandra Patre. Later she was trained in Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana by Gaanyogini Pandita Dhondutai Kulkarni for12 years. Currently, she is  in advanced training under Vidushi Dr.Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande. She is also learning harmonium from Sudhir Nayak.

Pandit Bhimashankar Bidanur and Deepak Nagannavar, well-known artistes of the city, have accompanied renowned vocalists, in addition to presenting solo performances at prestigious platforms.
