RV University Mysuru hosts Crisis Management Masterclass for Tanzanian Fire & Rescue Force

Mysore/Mysuru: RV University Mysuru conducted a high-impact masterclass on Crisis Management and Leadership for a 15-member Tanzanian delegation as part of the Trainee ITEC Programme: Railway Rescue Operations anchored by Indian Railway Institute of Disaster Management (IRIDM), Bengaluru.

The larger training programme was curated by Dr. B.S. Kiran, a senior Indian Railways official and faculty at IRIDM, bringing together global best practices in disaster preparedness and railway rescue operations.

Leadership Masterclass by Pro Vice-Chancellor

The masterclass was delivered by Dr. Dwarika Uniyal, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of RV University Mysuru, who presented a comprehensive framework on crisis management covering preparedness, rapid response, coordinated decision-making and post-crisis learning.

Dr. Uniyal emphasised the critical role of leadership under pressure, highlighting how clarity, empathy and structured command systems significantly influence outcomes during emergencies.

Delegation and participation

The Tanzanian delegation was led by  Abraham Germanico Ntezidyo, Senior Superintendent and included officials involved in fire safety and rescue operations. The session facilitated active knowledge exchange, with participants sharing experiences from railway incidents and disaster response scenarios in Tanzania.

Strengthening global collaboration

The masterclass underscored RV University Mysuru’s growing role as a knowledge partner in public leadership and crisis management education. The engagement also reinforced India-Tanzania co-operation in capacity building for railway safety and disaster response.
