Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) awarded S.M. Krishna Memorial Tennis Scholarship – 2024 to Mysuru city’s tennis player Padmapriya Ramesh in recognition of her outstanding performance in the national and international tennis tournaments held during 2024 in the U-12 and U-14 age group category at a function held at S.M. Krishna Tennis Stadium (formerly KSLTA Stadium) at Cubbon Park in Bengaluru yesterday.
Scholarships were also awarded to other nine upcoming tennis players as well. On the occasion, the KSLTA Tennis Stadium was renamed as S.M. Krishna Tennis Stadium as a tribute to former Chief Minister, who also served as the KSLTA President from 1999 to 2019.
KSLTA President and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly R. Ashok, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge, international tennis player Rohan Bopanna, Karnataka Olympic Association (KOA) President K. Govindraj, late S.M. Krishna’s wife Prema Krishna and others were present.
