Sacred images get dignified disposal in clean-up drive

Mysore/Mysuru: City-based Team Mysuru conducted a campaign to collect and respectfully dispose of old, abandoned photos of various Gods and Goddesses placed at multiple locations across the city.

The team carried out the drive at Shivaji Park in N.R. Mohalla, where they gathered more than 200 portraits that had been left at the Aralikatte and other spots between 7 am and 10 pm.

Usable portraits were restored with new frames and handed back to the public, while damaged photos and idols were buried in a pit as per tradition, after which a sapling was planted at the site.

The initiative received strong public support and appreciation for addressing the improper disposal of sacred images.

Team Mysuru members Gokul Govardhan, Kiran, Jairam Gowda, Anil Jain, Hiriyanna, Shivaprasad, Manohar, Trimurthy, Varshini, Sahana, Uma and others took part in the drive.
