‘Sadvidya institutions working towards making every student a resource person’

Seers fete retired faculty of Sadvidya Educational Institutions

Mysore/Mysuru: “Sadvidya educational institutions has been striving for making every student a resource person of the country which is laudable,” said Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer Dr. Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji.

He was speaking at the valedictory of the three-day post-Centenary, Golden Jubilee and Silver Jubilee celebrations of Sadvidya Educational Institutions at Kalamandira on Hunsur road here on Monday last.

Pointing out that India is a country which spread the essence of education across the globe, Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji said that however, the repression of the Britishers created a chaotic situation in the country. During this troubled and testing  times that the Sadvidya Educational Institutions was set up, which has imparted education to thousands of students ever since then.

“People should give due respect to the Institution which was set up even before the freedom struggle for imparting valued education,” he said.

Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, in his address, said that a valued education was needed for building a well-cultured society. Stressing on the need for teachers to build self-confidence among children, he said that the future of the society can be seen from the lustre of knowledge-filled eyes of children.

Noting that teachers should not make children as mere book worms, he said it is important to make children buzz with activities. The future of the children would be much brighter if they are taught about the activities of the society, he maintained.

Mysuru Ramakrishna Ashram President Swami Muktidanandaji said that education is not only about scoring marks, but as well as personality development. Pointing out that personality development must be based only on good thoughts and ethical foundations, he observed that political intervention had resulted in the sidelining of moral and value education. No nation can develop without advancements in Science and Technology, he added.

Retired faculty of Sad-vidya Educational Institutions T. Seshadri, Prof. T.N. Premachandra, T.S. Satya-narayanrao, Prof. Lakshmi-narayan Shastri, Prof. Gururaj, Arati Arun, Suvidya and Krupa Manjunath were felicitated on the occasion by the Seers.

Sadvidya Educational Institutions President Prof. V.K. Gopalachar, Hon. Secretary Prof. M.S.K. Narahari Babu, office-bearers C.R. Nagaraj, Prof. K.S. Hiriyanna and others were present.

During the event, the  Sadvidya Educational Institutions wore a festive look as it celebrated the 3-day Shattottara, Suvarna and Rajatha Mahotsava at Kalamandira from Sept. 2 to 4.

The events commenced with invocation on the inaugural day on Sept.2, followed by welcome address and traditional lighting of the lamp. The chief guest was writer Veena Bannanje.

On the second day on Sept.3, the Souvenir ‘Suradruma’ representing the History of Mysore and Sadvidya Educational Institutions was released. Speaking as the chief guest, R. Guru, Chairman of N.R. Group, said that he is an alumnus of this prestigious Institution and he feels that this informative Souvenir should be kept in the library of all educational institutions of Mysuru.

Sindhu B. Rupesh, Director of the Department of School Education, in her address, said that the Sadvidya educational institutions was known for imparting quality education and discipline.

The event featured a dance drama titled ‘Sadvidya Satpatha’, by PUC students that showcased the history of Sadvidya Educational Institutions, classical dance and musical performance by the alumni and a presentation  on ‘Krishna Vaibhava’ and ‘Hanuman Chalisa.’
