Safai Karmacharis to get Rs. 30 lakh in case of death while on COVID-19 duty

Bengaluru: Coming to the aid of Pourakarmikas who are part of the battle against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol said that all Safai Karmacharis (Pourakarmikas), who die while engaged in COVID-19 duty, will get a compensation of Rs. 30 lakh each and one of the family members of the deceased will get a Government job on compassionate grounds.

Speaking at the Manual Scavenging Monitoring Committee meeting, at Vikasa Soudha on Thursday, he said that all infected civic workers must be paid wages during quarantine period.
