Only eight tourists go on safari this morning
Gundlupet: The safari at Bandipur Tiger Reserve, which was stopped two months back following COVID-19 pandemic, resumed this morning with only eight tourists going on the safari in two trips.
Before the safari began, all safari vehicles were disinfected and only four tourists were taken in the Gypsy safari vehicle, which made two trips. The rent for one Gypsy vehicle is Rs. 4,500 and Rs. 250 per person is charged for the safari.
Bandipur comes under Chamarajanagar district and with the pandemic situation coming under control in the district and included in the list of Category-1 districts, tourism related activities at Bandipur has been given a green signal and accordingly, safari has been restarted.
However, safari at Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, which comes under Mysuru district, is yet to commence as the district is under lockdown till July 5.
