A lthough the publication has been deemed to be a novel, the narrative is actually a biographical record of Suttur Seer Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji (1916-1986), comprising a large number of events reading which creates the feeling of witnessing the incomparable Swamiji dedicating himself in selfless service to society, particularly in enabling and empowering those without the wherewithal to keep their soul and limbs together, providing them with food, shelter and education. The description of the days following the Swamiji’s birth is poetic in style, marking the solemnity of the occasion, virtually heralding the arrival of the ascetic who turned out to be the epitome of virtue and magnanimity, as the incumbent Seer of Suttur Mutt Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamij has expressed in his message.

The land’s epics narrate the acts of divinity descending on earth in human form. This publication narrates the innumerable acts of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji no less that of divinity in assuaging hunger and life’s miseries of fellow human beings, in thousands.

While the translated script is absorbing to the discerning readers, the original script in Kannada must be in content and style more absorbing. The example of one of the beneficiaries of the Seer’s compassion and empathy, enabling him to be groomed into a self-dependent citizen, replicated in countless number of cases, gives an insight into the lifestyle of the Mahaswamiji.

The country’s prominent citizens in various walks of life seeking the opportunity to come face to face with  the Seer and be blessed by him seem to have honoured themselves by communion with the noble human-being deemed to be divinity in human form that worked for the good of humanity.

The publication is enriched with many photographs of the Seer with personalities who  visited the Mutt and sought his blessings. The authors, writing in Kannada and translating into English, about the saga of selfless service of the Swamiji have to be complimented and thanked for letting people to know about the world of good that people without means to survive received from Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji.
