Case registered against five persons at Banashankari Police Station
Mysore/Mysuru: A Bengalurean, accusing five persons of cheating him of Rs. 1.5 crore on the pretext of selling him a site at Bogadi 2nd Stage in Mysuru, has lodged a complaint against them at Banashankari Police Station in Bengaluru.
The victim is N.M. Chidananda, a resident of Jayanagar in Bengaluru and the accused are M.G. Teerthaprasad, S.L. Manjunath, P. Padmanabha, M.G. Bhanuprasad and M.G. Kanyakumari, all from Bengaluru.
In his complaint, Chidananda has stated that Teerthaprasad, who wanted to sell his site measuring 603.90 sq. mts. at Bogadi 2nd Stage in Mysuru, had taken Rs. 1.5 crore and after making an agreement, Teerthaprasad had sold the site to someone.
He has further stated that, when he questioned Teetrthaprasad, the latter gave him the documents of a site, which is in the name of his mother Indumathi at Gokulam in Mysuru and told Chidananda that he would get this site (Site No. 420) registered in his (Chidananda) name, but again, had sold the site to someone else.
Chidananda has alleged that when he asked Teerthaprasad about it, the latter threatened him with life following which he lodged a complaint against Teerthaprasad, middlemen S.L. Manjunath and P. Padmanabha and signatories in the agreement paper M.G. Bhanuprasad and M.G. Kanyakumari at Bengaluru’s Banashankari Police Station.
Chidananda has also stated in the complaint that the accused, who had given him a cheque as security for the amount they had received from him (Chidananda), had given an advertisement that the cheque was lost and had prevented withdrawal of cash in the Bank, thus cheating him.
It is learnt that Banashankari Police have taken Teerthaprasad into custody and are on a lookout for others, who have gone absconding.
