Mysuru: The sale of flower plant saplings by Department of Horticulture at its office in Curzon Park as part of Dasara festival has drawn good response from public.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Assistant Director of the Department G.D. Dinesh Kumar said that about 5,000 saplings have already been sold out of a stock of 8,000 saplings. He added that earthen pots too were being sold separately for a price ranging from Rs. 25 to Rs. 35 depending on size while each sapling was sold at Rs. 5. He further said that seeds were being sold earlier and now they have changed to saplings after receiving complaints from public about germination. He added that other products for agriculture too were being sold at reasonable prices and vegetable plant saplings will be sold shortly.
