Mysuru: A five-day Sanchalana Children’s Theatre Festival organised by Sanchalana, Mysuru, in association with Karnataka Nataka Academy and Department of Kannada and Culture, will commence on Nov.10 at the Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises here.
Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here on Monday, Sanchalana President Deepak said that the Festival would feature plays by children everyday at 6.30 pm.
The inaugural function on Nov.10 at 6.30 pm will have Ministers G.T. Devegowda & S.R. Mahesh, MP R. Dhruvanarayan, Kannada & Culture Assistant Director H. Channappa and Prasad Kundoor of Niranthara Foundation as guests.
The line up of plays is as follows:
Nov. 10: ‘Preetiya Kalu’ by students of Daisy Convent.
Nov.11: ‘Shabari’ by Sanchalana troupe and ‘Nayithippa’ by students of JSS High School, Nachanahallipalya.
Nov.12: ‘Gadiya Dweepagalu’ by Mysore Mime Team and ‘Chitrapata Ramayana’ by Arivu Trust.
Nov.13: Bharatanatyam by students of Ayama Academy of Fine Arts and ‘Mahabhojana’ by students of Adamya Rangashale.
Nov.14: Valedictory followed by play ‘Digirido’ by students of Natana Rangashale. Entry is free.
