Mysore/Mysuru: The 229th Annual Sandal Urus Shariff of Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed, organised by Afroz Pasha, Secretary of Tipu Sultan Welfare & Urus Committee, Tipu Hall, Meena Bazar in Lashkar Mohalla, was held on July 9.
At the event held in the morning at Allah Malik House on Ashoka Road West Cross, Fateha Khwani was performed in the presence of Ulmas and area residents, shopkeepers and devotees of Tipu.
Later, the delegation left for Tipu Tomb at Ganjam in Srirangapatna and after reaching the shrine, they offered Fateha Khwani, Darud-o-Salaam and spread sandal paste and flower mats. Hazarath Moulana Md. Inayath-Ur-Rehaman Razvi, Shahi Imam of Tipu Tomb, read verses from Holy Quran. Later, flower mats were spread on the shrine of Tipu Sultan parents and family members.
Tippu Sultan Urus Committee Secretary Afroz Pasha, Tanzeem Ahle Sunnath-wo-Jamath Trust Secretary Jameel Ahmed Ashrafi, Md. Umar, Ahmed Pasha Khadree, Congress leader Rehamath Ulla Tipu, social worker Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi, and others took part.
