Mysore/Mysuru: The 246th Annual Sandal Urus Shariff celebrations of Hazarath Nawab Hyder Ali Khan Bahadur will be held on July 29 from 3 pm to 5 pm  at Meelad Park on Ashoka Road in city, according to Hazarath Tipu Sultan Urus and Welfare Committee Secretary Afroz Pasha.

The celebrations will be held under the patronage of Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff,  Hon. Chief Khazi of Darul Qaza Masjid Azam Hazarath Moulana Mufti Mohd. Shami-ul-Huda Samadi and under the Chairmanship of MLA and Chaiman of Tipu Wakf Estate Tanveer Sait, Bishop of Mysore Most Rev. Fr. K.A. William and Sri Basavalinga Swamy.

Dr. Mehboob Khan of K.R.Nagar; Mysuru District Wakf Board Advisory Committee Chairman Gayaz Ahmed, former  Chairman Shabir Ahmed Khan, former Vice-Chairman Jameel Ahmed Ashrafi, President of Tipu Trust Zahedulla Khan, Hazarath Sofi Wali Ba, Public Relation Officer of Farooqia Dental College Radiulla Khan, social worker Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi, Tousif Ahmed Khan of R.K. Palace Convention Centre, President of Chishtiya Foundation Group Khwaja Mohammed Musheer Chishti and other prominent leaders will participate in the celebrations.

The programme will begin at 9 am with the recital of verses from the Holy Quran. Lunch has been organised after Friday prayer at Allah Malik House, 19th Cross, Ashoka Road.

After the public meeting, the devotees will be taken to Tipu Tomb in Srirangapatna, where Fatha Khawni, Sandal Paste and spreading of flower mat will be performed.
