Mysuru: The 226th Annual Sandal Urus Shariff celebrations of Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed, organised by Afroz Pasha, will be held on Aug.11 at 11.45 am at Meelad Bagh on Ashoka Road in city.
The celebrations will be held under the guidance of Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff in the presence of Bishop Most Rev. Dr. K.A. William, Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji of Sri Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple, Haj Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed and MLA Tanveer Sait.
Tribute and homage will be followed by Fatha Khani and Duwa. Sandal procession accompanied by Fukras, Darvesh, Sufizum and Duff will pass through Ashoka Road, St. Philomena’s Church Circle via Fountain Circle to reach Bada Makan in Tipu Circle from where the procession will proceed to Masjid Allaha, and join the Sandal Urus procession to Tipu Tomb in Srirangapatna.
MLC Rizwan Arshad, S. Mukram, Advocate, Naseeruddin Babu, S.J. Lakshmegowda, Talkad Chikkarange Gowda, Ilyas Baig, Mysuru District Wakf Board Advisory Committee Chairman Arif Mekri, Mandya District Hazarath Tipu Sultan Welfare organisation office-bearers, Jameel Ahmed Ashrafi, Syed Haneef, Sabil Shariff, Abdul Azeez, Corporator Suhail Baig, Harish Gowda, City Congress President R. Murthy, Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi and others will participate in the programme.
