Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised two Hindustani music concerts on Oct. 13 at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar at 6 pm.
The first concert will be a sarod recital by H.S. Sachin from 6 pm to 7.30 pm accompanied by Pt. Bheemashankar on tabla followed by a vocal concert by Sanjana Koushik accompanied by Pt. Sriram Bhat on harmonium and Pt. Bheemashankar on tabla from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.
Artistes’ profile
H.S. Sachin was born on June 14, 1992 to family of musicians in Coorg district. He was initiated to learn tabla at the age of eight under the guidance of Pandit Ramesh Dhannur. Since last five years, he has been under the tutelage of Sarod Virtuoso Pandit Rajeev Taranath, and an illustrious disciple of Sarod Maestro Swara Samrat Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. The extensive training in tabla has also been adopted in Sarod playing in areas like Layakaari, complex rhythmic calculations on the sarod.
Sanjana Koushik: Born on June 19, 1995 to C.A. Ravindra and Tara Ravindra, she started singing and receiving the formal training in Hindustani classical vocal Khayal form of music at the age of 4 under Geeta Dutt in Jalandhar, Punjab. Later, she continued her training under Veerabhadraiah Hiremath in Mysuru. She received arduous Talim in Kirana Gharana from Nagabhushan Hegde and Niranjan for around eight years.
Presently, she is continuing her musical journey in Mumbai under the tutelage of Arun Kashalkar, a veteran exponent of Agra, Gwalior and Jaipur Gharanas. Having completed graduation in University of Mysore with a gold medal in Psychology, she is currently doing her PG in Music from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune.
