Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy has said, the change in prevailing situation has increased the challenges faced in Government jobs, which can be aptly addressed by upgrading skills for showing accuracy in handling responsibilities.
He was speaking after inaugurating Sarvothama Seva Award presentation ceremony, organised by the District Administration in association with Mysuru District Government Employees Association at Kiru Rangamandira at Kalamandira premises in the city yesterday. The award carries citation and purse of Rs. 25,000 each.
DC Reddy said, in private sector, the best performing employees are feted with bonus and other perks. While the Government employees are rewarded with Sarvothama Seva Award.
Zilla Panchayat CEO S. Ukesh Kumar said that employees should be recognised for their honesty and work ethic while Mysuru District President of Government Employees Association Dr. C.P. Arunkumar said, such awards encourage Government employees to excel at their work.
This tradition of rewarding Government employees with Civilian Service Award began in the year 2006, but since 2021 it comes along with a cash reward of Rs. 25,000.
Recipients of Sarvothama Award are: B.J. Gururaj, Naziya Sultana, N. Yashoda, N.M. Rathi, Dr. S. Chidambara, S.M. Madhusudhan, Kumuda Sharat, Chandrashekar and Roopa Rudresh.
