Mysore/Mysuru: Sri 1008 Satyatmatheertha Sripadangal, who is on a 33-day Digvijaya Yatra to Mysuru, was accorded a grand welcome on his arrival in city yesterday evening.
Upon his arrival, Sripadangal offered floral tributes to the idol of Ayodhya Balarama and to the portrait of Satyapramodatheertha Swamiji to flag-off the procession from Maharaja’s College Grounds till Uttaradi Mutt in Fort Mohalla.
KR MLA T.S. Srivatsa, former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, Hoysala Karnataka Sangha President K.R. Satyanarayana, District Brahmins Association President D.T. Prakash, social worker Raghuram Vajpayee, Vishwa Hindu Parishad State President Mahesh Kamath, social worker S.T. Vasudevamurthy, Vipra leader N.M. Naveen Kumar and others were present.
The procession was accompanied by naadaswara, veeraghase, chande, nagari, dollu kunitha, Udupi baana birusu, chitharada aane of Chennai and members of bhajana mandalis among other cultural troupes.
