Mysuru: A motor bike rally to create awareness about saving the single horned rhino, which is on the verge of extinction, passed through the city yesterday.
The members of the Indian Wildlife Explorers and a few animal lovers welcomed the rallyists at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the North Gate of the Mysore Palace. The rallyists then passed through the main streets and later met Deputy Conservator of Forest V. Yedukondalu.
There are very few single horned rhinos left in the country which can be counted on one’s finger tips. In order to bring about awareness among the people on saving this great animal, Assam’s Julian Baruch, Hyderabad’s Adam Gizeen and his son Kota Saras are holding the bike rally.
They have already passed through West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Environmentalist and Wildlife Protection activist Bhagyalakshmi, Sridhar, Manohar Nayak, Amal George, Salman Sheriff, Nandini, Gayathri, Kaushik and others welcomed the rallyists.
