Save us residents from canine menace

August 17, 2024

Sir,

I am writing to bring to your attention the growing concern of the canine menace in our city. Stray dogs have become a significant nuisance, posing a threat to pedestrians and disrupting the peace in localities.

These stray dogs roam the streets, biting and scaring people, making it difficult for citizens to walk safely. Moreover, at night, their collective barking disrupts the sleep of residents, causing unnecessary stress and discomfort.

Additionally, private dog owners must be held accountable for cleaning up after their pets poop. It is unacceptable that dog owners allow their pets to defecate on public roads during walks, leaving behind unsanitary conditions.

I urge the Mysuru City Corporation to take immediate action to address this issue. They must:

1. Round up stray dogs and provide them with proper shelter and care.

2. Implement measures to prevent stray dogs from entering residential areas.

3. Enforce regulations requiring private dog owners to clean up after their pets poop.

4. Provide adequate waste disposal facilities for dog waste.

It is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure public safety and maintain cleanliness in our city. I request prompt attention to this matter to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
