Achievers from various fields — Gayatri Raj, Kannur V. Govindachari, Ramanatha Gupta, Prabha Shastry, Vijaya Sudarshan, Khasimmallige Maduvu and Varada Nayak — were conferred with ‘Savigannada Samskrutika Prashasti’ during the ‘Kavya Dasara,’ a Dasara Kavigoshti and Award Ceremony organised by Hoysala Kannada Sangha and Savigannada Patrika Balaga at Namana Kalamantapa in Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru, recently. Poetess Dr. Latha Rajashekar inaugurated the Kavigoshti. Senior writer and retired Director of Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS) Dr. D.K. Rajendra presided over the programme. Retired Professor of Vidyodaya College Dr. C.G. Ushadevi spoke on the occasion. V. Govindachari and Gayatri Raj spoke on behalf of the awardees and thanked the organisers. Senior science writer and Karnataka Muktaka Sahitya Academy Founder Prof. S. Ramaprasad and Kavigoshti President B. Ramesh too spoke. More than 20 registered poets took part in the Kavigoshti. Earlier, the programme began with Srikantesh rendering ‘Nadageete’ and Vijayalakshmi rendering invocation. Journalist Ranganath Mysore welcomed. Poetess Padma Raghu compered the programme.
