School vehicle drivers continue strike in city

Mysuru:  The indefinite stir launched by the Mysuru City Private Schools Autos and Vans Union in  protest against the Traffic Police rules restricting the number of children that school autos and vans can ferry, entered the second day today.

The Union office-bearers said this morning that they were awaiting a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner to find a solution for their grievances.

The withdrawal of the stir will depend on the outcome of the meeting, they added.

The protesting drivers are demanding relaxation in traffic rules, according to which an auto can carry five children and a Omni Van six or  seven children.
