DDPIs asked to ensure reopening on celebration mode
Mysuru: Primary and High Schools in the State will reopen from tomorrow for the academic year 2019-20. The Department of Public Instruction Commissioner, Dr. M.T. Reju has instructed all DDPIs to make everything ready for the reopening like cleaning school premises, class rooms, kitchen and toilets along with safety aspects and drinking water facilities.
The DDPIs have been asked to ensure that all schools reopen on a celebration note decorating the premises and providing lunch with sweets to students. They have been also instructed to hold meeting of Heads of Schools to ensure the completion of action plan for 2019-20, preparation of time-table for students and teachers.
Drop-outs: About 70,116 children have dropped out of schools in the State and DDPIs have been asked to take serious note of that and see that such children come back to schools. It is also suggested to organise awareness rally by students, plan to visit houses of school drop-outs and create awareness among parents on importance of education.
Surprise Inspection: As being done earlier, the Supervisory officials of the Education Department would conduct surprise inspection from tomorrow till June 8 to ascertain the commencement of educational activities in schools as per the set guidelines and provide feedback to school Heads. However, the surprise inspection should be limited to a maximum duration of 30 to 40 minutes so as to cover maximum number of schools. Dr. Reju has instructed that all inspection reports should reach his Office in Bengaluru before June 15.
