‘Science can be better understood in Kannada’ Prizes distributed to science competition winners

 Karnataka Rajya Vijnana Parishat (KRVP) together with the Department of Collegiate Education had organised a programme at Maharani’s Science College here yesterday to distribute prizes to the winners of Mysuru Division Science Exhibition for degree students.

Speaking on the occasion, KRVP Member N.R. Manjunath opined that it was necessary to teach Science in Kannada for students and common people especially from rural areas.

He said that along with seminars, lectures and interaction held in Kannada, basic Science could be more popularised through Kannada and added that KRVP was holding many competitions in that context.

Addressing the gathering, competition Judge and Researcher Thippeswamy suggested good utilisation of funds provided by the Government for scientific research otherwise the money would go waste.

The first prize in the Science competition was bagged by JSS Arts and Science College, Mysuru; Maharani’s Science College, Mysuru bagged the 2nd and 4th place and PES Arts and Science College, Mandya, bagged the 3rd and 5th prizes.

M.L. Srinath, Assistant Director, Department of Collegiate Education, S.M. Gurunanjaiah, Vice-President, KRVP, Narendra Adanoor, Member and   others were present.
