Mysore/Mysuru: A 65-year old Scooter rider was killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle knocked down the Scooter near Bandipalya on Mysuru-Nanjangud road this morning.

Vasanth (65), a resident of Ashokapuram in city is the deceased.

Vasanth who worked for a Lorry office near Bandipalya, was travelling to work on his Scooter at about 10.15 am, when a speeding Goods Auto rear-ended the Scooter and fled from the spot towards Nanjangud without stopping. Vasanth who fell down, sustained serious head and body injuries and died on the spot, it is learnt.

The jurisdictional Mysuru South Police visited the spot, conducted Mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary. The Police who have registered a case in this regard, are going through the images captured in the CCTV camera installed at the Toll gate nearby, to trace the vehicle involved in the mishap.
