Second round of house-to-house health survey planned: Dist. Minister

Mysore/Mysuru: Co-operation and District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar said the District Administration has successfully conducted ‘Vaidyara Nade – Halliya Kade’ and increased the number of tests.

Explaining to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa during the video-conference with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of eight districts that were reporting more number of Corona positive cases and mortality yesterday, he said though the number of positive cases was more, the Positivity Rate was declining. The house-to-house survey was almost complete and plans are afoot to have another round of survey. “We are expecting the Positivity Rate to reduce,” he added.

The Minister said that the asymptomatic patients were admitted to COVID Care Centres and this has helped in checking the spread of pandemic. The district has registered 88 Black Fungus cases of which 62 are active and ten have died. Others have been discharged from various hospitals, Somashekar said.

Manjunathaswamy, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) R. Shivakumar, District Surgeon Dr. Rajeshwari Devi,  District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. T. Amarnath and MCC Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj were present.
