Security agencies asked to be cautious while appointing Security Guards

Mysuru:  The Police Department has asked Security Agencies to be cautious while appointing security guards.

Addressing a meeting of Private Security Agency owners at his office here recently, Internal Security Wing Dy.SP K.R. Virupakshegowda explained the procedures to be followed while appointing security personnel.

Cautioning the agencies against recruiting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, he advised the agencies to check the background of every person who would be recruited.

Pointing out that there were inputs on appointment of persons from North-East without checking their antecedents, Virupakshegowda warned of action against such agencies who show callousness in following procedures.

Asking the agencies to collect all necessary documents from the candidates, he said that the documents must be submitted for Police verification and the candidate be subjected to medical examination. Observing that private security agencies have earned a fair name among the general public for their services, the Dy.SP, citing several instances where security personnel themselves were involved in crimes, directed the agencies to recruit security personnel only after a thorough check of their background. Representatives of over 40 security agencies from Mysuru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts attended the meeting.
