Mysore/Mysuru: A security guard of a private hospital died on the spot after reportedly falling through the elevator duct on the second floor of a hospital near Vontikoppal Temple on KRS Road yesterday evening.
The deceased is Rajendra Babu (55), son of late Doddarangaiah and a resident of Srinivasa Agrahara in Srirangapatna taluk.
It is learnt that Rajendra Babu, who had gone to the second floor of the hospital on some work, fell into the duct between 4.15 pm and 4.30 pm. He sustained severe injuries and breathed his last on the spot.
V.V. Puram Inspector Arun and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides registering a case of unnatural death. Post-mortem was conducted this morning and the body was handed over to the family members.
