Security Guard murdered with cement brick

Mysuru: A security guard was brutally murdered by using cement brick in Railway Layout last night (Feb.23).

The unfortunate victim is Puttamadappa alias Madashetty (60), a resident of Kumbarakoppal, near Mahadeshwara Temple. He was working as a security guard at a house nearing completion belonging to one Gopinath in Railway Layout, near Surya Bakery on First Main, 4th Cross.

Yesterday around 7.30 pm, Puttamadappa was inhumanly killed with a cement brick. His head was completely smashed and brain had spilled out. Public in the area are shocked that the murder took place in a very crowded area.

Passersby who had seen Puttamadappa pushing his cycle and going with another person informed the Police. It is suspected that a wordy duel might have ensued between the two which might have led to fraying of tempers resulting in his murder.

On hearing about the murder, DCP Dr. N. Vishnuvardhana, N.R. Police Sub Division ACP Umesh G. Shet, Metagalli Police Inspector Sunil Kumar and staff reached the spot and conducted mahazar. The body was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem. Vijayanagar Police have registered a case. The Police are trying to look out for the person who was with the victim. Puttamadappa leaves behind two daughters and a son.
