Selected for ‘Chittani’ Award

Mysuru: Harikatha Vidwan Suryanarayana Panjanje, Yakshagana exponent from Mangaluru, residing in Bengaluru, has been selected for the ‘Chittani’ Award instituted by Innovative Mysore.

The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a citation, will be presented to the artiste on Aug. 10 during the inaugural function of three-day ‘Yakshotsava’ at Kalamandira here. Entrepreneur G.M. Hegde will present the award. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion, according to a press release from Innovative Mysore President G.S. Bhat.
