Selected for Gokhale Institute’s honour

Mysuru: Dr. H.V. Nagaraja Rao, veteran Sanskrit scholar and columnist of Mysuru Mithra, a sister publication of Star of Mysore, has been selected for the prestigious honour of Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru.

Dr. Rao will be honoured with a citation and purse of Rs. 5 lakh at a ceremony to be  held at DVG Auditorium of the Institute on July 20.

Gokhale Institute, founded by veteran litterateur D.V. Gundappa (DVG) for the cause of the people of the State and cultural progress, has been involved in various activities since 79 years.

 Dr. Rao, who has been the authority in Sanskrit, has enriched the State as a researcher, historian and editor of eminent publications. In recognition of his enormous contributions, the Executive Committee of the Institute comprising  B.N. Shashikiran and Shatavadhani Dr. R. Ganesh selected Dr. Rao for the honour.
