Mysore/Mysuru: S. Thanya from Mysuru has won 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in the XXI State Short Course Swimming Championship 2022-23 organised by Karnataka Swimming Association affiliated to Swimming Federation of India, Karnataka Olympic Association and Sports Authority of Karnataka, at PET Aquatic Centre in Mandya recently.
She secured I place in 200M Breaststroke, 50M Breaststroke with the timing 2:46:42 and 36:69 respectively, II Place in 100M Breaststroke & 400M Medley with the timing of 1:17:54 & 5:23:34 respectively and III place in 4 X50M Medley & 200M Medley with the timing of 2:11:19 & 2:31:17 respectively in U-14 years category.
She has been selected for National Zonal-level Swimming Competition to be held from Dec. 27 to 29 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
She also broke the State Record set in 2005 in the 400M Medley Event at the timing 5:24:76 to reach the goal by 2:23:34.
Thanya is trained under Pavan Kumar of Global Sports Association, J.P. Nagar Swimming Pool, Mysuru, from last 6 years.
An 8th standard student of Sri Sharada Public School, Mysuru, she is the daughter of S.P. Shadakshari and N. Shwetha.
