Selection of beneficiaries under CM’s Employment Generation Scheme

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep launched the interview for selecting beneficiaries for loan distribution under the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, at the District Industries Centre (DIC) on Sayyaji Rao Road here on Aug. 3.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the scheme is meant for unemployed youths living in towns having a population of less than 20,000 according to the 2001 census.

Pointing out that DIC and the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) have been entrusted with the responsibility of selecting the beneficiaries, Randeep said that the DIC had received 450 applications for 60 beneficiaries, while the KVIB had received 250 online applications for 40 beneficiaries.

Stating that the applications received was much more in number when compared to the previous year, the DC said total transparency is being maintained in the selection of beneficiaries which will be done by a Task Force Committee headed by the DC, right from the receipt of applications to the preparation of final list of beneficiaries.

He further said that the beneficiaries will be given loans up to a maximum of Rs. 10 lakh each for self-employment and the General category candidates will get 25 percent subsidy, while the rest of the categories and communities can avail 35 percent subsidy.

DIC Joint Director H. Ramakrishnegowda, who is also the Member-Secretary of the Task Force Committee, Lead Bank Manager K.N. Shivalingaiah and officials from Departments concerned were present during the occasion.
