Seminar and Ghazal tomorrow

Mysuru:  Anjuman-e- Hadeeqathul Adab and Karnataka Urdu Academy are jointly organising a Seminar, Gazal and Book release programme tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 am at the Platinum Jubilee auditorium in J.K. Grounds.

Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Auqaf and Minorities Development Tanveer Sait will inaugurate the seminar. Academy Chairman Syed Khadeer Nazim Sarguroh will preside.

Dr. B. Sheik Ali, former Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore and Goa Universities, will deliver a special lecture while Prof. S.Masood Siraj will deliver keynote address. Siraj Ahmed Khalid, Registrar, Urdu Academy, Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem, Director, Bi Bi Ayeesha Milli Hospital and Ariff Mehkri, Chairman, Mysore District Waqf Advisory Committee, will be the chief guests.

The first session of the seminar on  “Shahar-e-Mysore ka Adbi Manzar Nama from 1902 till date” will be held between 12 noon and 1 pm; Second session from 1 pm to 2 pm; Third session from 3  pm to 4 pm.

The book titled “Memaran-e-Mysore” written by S. Moinuddin Pasha, Member, Urdu Academy, will be released at  5 pm. “Naaz-e-Anjuman” Award will be presented to Mir Sarfaraz Ur Rahman for his yeoman services in the field of Urdu Literature and Social Services. On the occasion, Minister Tanveer Sait will be felicitated.

Later, Ghazals will be presented by famous Ghazal Singer Aanisa Khanak Joshi and Party from Bengaluru. Art works by city artistes Abbas Shariff and Munawer Hussain will be displayed at the exhibition, according to a press release from Syed Shafi  Ahmed and S. Moinuddin Pasha, Members of the Urdu Academy.
