Seminar on GST held

Mysuru: A two-day seminar on “Learning Avenues in Companies Act & GST” organised by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Mysuru chapter, began at a private hotel here on Friday.

Speaking after inaugurating the seminar, CII, Mysuru Chairman Arjun Ranga, explained the benefits of GST regime.

Pointing out that GST is aimed at bringing about a uniform tax rate in the country, he said that the GST introduced under the ‘One Nation-One Tax’ concept will help all stakeholders.

He also highlighted the role of Chartered Accountants and Company Secretaries in the implementation of GST regime.

MCCI President A.S. Satish, ICSI Mysuru Chapter Chairman S. Manjunath, Secretary M.J. Veeresh, Treasurer Harsha and others were present. The seminar covered over 10 sessions focussing on topics such as: Latest amendments in Companies Act, 2013; Strike off provisions & COD scheme for disqualified directors; RUN & DIN services – Reservation of name and its incorporation; Representation before NCLT and NCLAT; Secretarial standards 1 and 2.
