Seminar on ‘Make in India and Digital India’ held

Mysuru: A two-day seminar on ‘Make in India and Digital India: Empowerment and transformation for inclusive growth’ organised by Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP) of University of Mysore (UoM) was held at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri recently.

About 200 researchers and students participated in the seminar deliberating on the concepts of Make in India and Digital India.

Inaugurating the programme, D. Satheesh Kumar, Vice-President (Operations), Rane Madras Limited, Mysuru, opined that India with multi-lingual diverse culture, implementing a scheme was a tough task for the Union Government.

He said that despite the odds, the concepts of Make in India and Digital India have been effectively put to practice.

He said that in countries like China and Europe, an industry is opened after developing the infrastructure of the place unlike in India where of late the trend is getting changed.

He contended that Digital India had gained popularity with a good percentage of population quite familiar with e-governance and mobile applications.

Former Director of CSSEIP Dr. Ramesh was felicitated on the occasion.

Dr. Abhinanda Sarkar, Associate Dean, MYRA School of Business, Mysuru, delivered the keynote address. University of Mysore Registrar Prof. R. Rajanna presided. CSSEIP In-charge Director Dr. D.C. Nanjunda and others were present.
