Seminar on Netaji, Vivekananda and Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa on Feb. 7

Mysore/Mysuru: A seminar in memory of Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa has been organised by Bharatiya Samskrutika Vikasa Vedike at Aradhya Mahasabha, JLB Road in city on Feb. 7 at 4 pm.

Addressing a press conference at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, S.E. Mahadevappa, Chief Patron of the Vedike, said the purpose of holding this  seminar was to increase a sense of patriotism among the youths. 

On Feb. 7 at 8.30 am, MLA Tanveer Sait will garland the statue of Vivekananda at Cheluvamba Park and MLA L.Nagendra will garland the bust of Field Marshal Cariappa at Metropole Circle. This will be followed by ‘harmony’ walk in city.

At 4 pm, former Minister C.H.Vijayashankar will inaugurate the seminar. Sri Someshwaranatha Swamiji, Dr. Mathe Basavanjali Devi, Shanthivrathanandaji of Ramakrishna Ashram, Prof. Nilagiri M. Talwar and Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa will be present. 

On this occasion, a specially-erected Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Maha Dhwara at Aradhya Sabha Bhavan will be inaugurated by Nagabhushanaradhya, writer Triveni Sabhangana (auditorium) will be opened by Dr. S.E. Mahadevappa and Appaneravanda Haradasa Appacha Kavi Vedike will be inaugurated by Appaneravanda Dr. Sonia Mandappa. Social worker Dr. K. Raghuram Vajpayee will preside. New office-bearers of Bharatiya Samskrutika Vikasa Vedike and Bhumika Bhavaikya Balaga will take oath.

Those who were present at the press conference included C. Jagadish, B.S.Geetha Ganesh, Dr. Nalini Thammaiah, Meenakshi and Vedike President Thagadur Gowrishankar.
