Senior Congress leader Suresh Kalmadi no more

Pune: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Suresh Kalmadi passed away at around 3.30 am here today following  prolonged illness. He was 81.

He is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, 2 married daughters, a son-in-law and grandchildren. His mortal remains were kept at Kalmadi House in Erandwane, Pune, for public darshan till 2 pm today, after which his last rites will be performed.

Beginning his career as an IAF Pilot, Kalmadi had served for many years as an MP from Pune, Union Minister of State for Railways and as President of Indian Olympic Association.
