Senior journalist passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: Rajkumar Bhavasar (64), a senior journalist, who had sustained serious injuries after he fell from his bike near Kalale village in Nanjangud taluk a few days back and admitted to Trauma Care Centre on KRS Road, has succumbed to injuries at the hospital yesterday.

His wife M.N. Veena had predeceased him in 2023.

A native of Chamarajanagar district, Rajkumar was residing at Dattagalli in city and had worked in various newspapers including Mysuru Mithra and Star of Mysore for over three decades.

The body was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted this morning and the body was handed over to his relatives.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon, according to his relatives.
