This Act helps recovery of delayed payments

Mysuru: Mysore Industries Association (MIA)  President and former MLA Vasu has said that an awareness programme on Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME) Act, 2006, and the powers of the Facilitation Councils to help recover delayed payments is organised  by MIA on Dec.18 at Lalitha Smaraka Bhavan at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology premises in city.

Addressing reporters at a private hotel in city, he said that this programme has been organised by MIA in association with the Directorate of MSME, Bengaluru, District Industries Centre (DIC), Mysuru and MSME Council. This programme aims to help all stakeholders appreciate the salient features of the Act under which they are protected by law against delayed payment that affects their fortunes.

Commissioner of Directorate of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise Development Gunjan Krishna will inaugurate the programme at 10.30 am.

MSME Additional Director H.M. Srinivas, Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) Vice-President Raju, Joint Director of District Industries Centre D.K. Lingaraj, Deputy Director Ministry of MSME Piyush Agarwal, MIA President Vasu and MSME Council President Ravi Koti will participate.

Entrepreneurs from Mysuru, Mandya, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Hassan, Chikkamagalur, Chamarajanagar, representatives of various industrial organisations and establishments who purchase from micro and small scale manufacturers and service providers can participate. Micro and small enterprises tend to be ancillary units to the medium and large industrial units and supply components that are outsourced from them. They tend to be bogged down by delayed payments that in turn stretch indefinitely. This often leads to the closure of many smaller units.
