Serial thefts in city

Mysuru: In a serial theft, burglars, who gained entry into four shops at Halladakeri in the heart of the city late last night, have made good with cash of Rs. 85,500 and brass articles worth about Rs. 30,000.

The four shops burgled are Kiran Auto Agency, Radha Ram Steel Centre, Namma Metal Store and M.P. Narayana Metal Store located at a Cross Road near Sangam Theatre in Halladakeri.

The burglars are said to have forced their entry into the shops by breaking open the small doors located on the top of each of the shops, after gaining access by climbing the under-construction Jain temple, coming up adjacent to the building, where the shops are located.

The burglars decamped with Rs.50,000 cash kept in Kiran Auto Agency, Rs. 23,000 cash from Radharam Metal Store, Rs. 12,500 cash from M.P. Narayana Metal Store and 80 kg of Brass articles, which included idols of various deities, it is learnt.

The jurisdictional Lashkar Police visited the spot and conducted mahazar.
