Come October, it is a holiday-spree for Bank employees as Banks will be closed for 12 days on account of holidays for a multitude of festivals in the month.
The holidays will begin with Oct. 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), followed by General holiday on Oct. 3 (Sunday). The Banks will also be shut on Oct. 6 for Mahalaya Amavasya, Oct. 14 for Ayudha Puja, Oct. 15 for Vijayadashami, Oct. 20 for Valmiki Jayanti and Eid-Milad.
Furthermore, Banks will be closed on all Sundays of the month — Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 and on Oct. 9 for second Saturday and Oct. 23 forfourth Saturday. Bank employees in Kodagu district will have an extra day as Holiday as Banks across the district will be closed on Oct. 18 for Tula Sankramana. Meanwhile, Bank authorities have appealed the public to make their Bank transactions keeping in mind the holiday schedule of Banks in October.
