October 19, 2025

Mysuru, Oct. 19 (BS)- Cyber Police have arrested a Congress party worker on the charges of sharing his sex clip, while having an affair with a woman, on social media.

The accused has been identified as Lohit of Saligrama taluk in the district. The Police arrested him yesterday and produced him before a Court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

Following a complaint from the woman’s father, a case was registered and the arrest was made, said Cyber Police Station Inspector Sunil. In his complaint, the woman’s father has stated that, his daughter, who was married three months ago, had come home for Deepavali festival.

“A relative of mine, who met me at our agricultural field on Oct. 16 morning, told me about the video of my daughter and Lohit, which he had received from a fellow villager. As the video was full of voyeurism, he (relative) had deleted the video,” the woman’s father recalled. “The accused had resorted to such an act only to insult my daughter and family. The family of both, including that of my daughter is disturbed, after this incident,” he said.

MLA clarifies

Meanwhile, following the allegations that, the accused was a close aide of K.R. Nagar MLA D. Ravishankar, as reported in social media, Ravishankar clarified that, his name was being dragged into the incident, for no reasons.

“He is not my staunch supporter. I have directed the Police to take action against whoever, who has committed such a heinous act,” said Ravishankar.
