Sexual harassment case: Seer and women’s husband get anticipatory bail

September 23, 2018

Mysuru:  A city court has granted conditional anticipatory bail to Pandavapura Mahakali Chakreshwara Peetha Seer Vidyahamsa Bharathi Swamiji and his disciple, the husband of the woman who has accused the Seer of sexually harassing her.

The women victim, accusing the Seer of sexually harassing her in connivance with her husband during a Chaturmasa programme at Krishnamurthypuram’s Rama Mandira recently, had lodged a complaint with Kuvempunagar Police seeking action against the two.

Soon after the registration of the case, the Seer and the woman’s husband went absconding. However, the Police succeeded in arresting the Seer’s another disciple Anil Kumar, on charges of helping Vidyahamsa Swamiji.

The Seer and the women’s husband moved the Court seeking anticipatory bail.

The city’s Fourth Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Krishnaiah, who heard the bail petition yesterday, granted conditional anticipatory bail to the two.
