Mysuru: The Special POCSO Court in city has sentenced a 58-year-old man to two years imprisonment and has imposed a fine of Rs.25,000 for sexually harassing a minor girl in city.
The elderly man, who has been sentenced to jail, is Ramaprasad, a resident of Kuvempunagar in city, who had sexually harassed a minor girl a few years ago.
The girl’s mother, who came to know about the incident, had lodged a complaint at Ashokapuram Police Station and the Police, who had registered a case in this regard, conducted investigation and had submitted a charge-sheet to the Special POCSO Court in city.
Judge B.S. Jayashree, who heard the arguments, found the accused guilty of the crime and sentenced him to two years in jail besides imposing a fine of Rs.25,000.
POCSO Special Prosecutor B.C. Shivarudraswamy argued on behalf of the Government.
