Shashti Jatra at Siddalingapura cancelled

The Tahsildar of Mysuru taluk has passed an order, cancelling the Shashti Jatra Mohotsava at Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy temple in Siddalingapura on Nov.  29, since the renovation works of the temple are underway.

However, the religious rituals will be held on the Shashti festival day, as per the tradition of the temple, within the temple premises. The temple, which is on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway, is a category ‘C’ religious institution under the Charitable Endowments Department. Every year, Shashti Jatra is held in a grand manner and thousands of devotees visit the temple.
